Tower 2 at One Raffles Place

The office building is characterized by large span trusses around the elevator shaft and sharply angled roof design. The steel frame was constructed using advanced Japanese technology.

Tower 2 at One Raffles Place (formerly known as OUB Center), a 213-m high-rise, was constructed adjacent to the existing Tower 1. The structure is mainly built of steel, a relatively rare case for a high rise in Singapore. Long-span trusses were arranged around the elevator shaft to secure space for the office building.
Curtain walls were installed all around the exterior. The sharply angled roof design produces a unique exterior. The redesign was to facilitate the steel work and the precision of construction, and the steel manufacturing costs were reduced. High-level Japanese welding techniques were applied on all sections where welding was technically difficult for local fabrication. As a result, a quality building was constructed.
